About This Project

St. Patrick Catholic Church

This project consists of renovations to the nave and sanctuary to a mid-century traditional church by one of Virginia’s most prominent architects, TJ Collins.  The church had suffered and unfortunate renovation that reversed the direction of the sanctuary and placed the tabernacle out of site in a smaller chapel space.  That renovation also placed the choir in an enlarged stage area, which had the added effect of reducing seating in the nave by half.

The renovation restores the original orientation and arrangement of the sanctuary, with new floors, a new tabernacle stand and altar inspired by the original church, and nearly doubles the seating in the nave allowing the church to move seats out of the basement overflow.
