The project was initiated in response to the pastor’s intention to return the Tabernacle to the central focus of the sanctuary of this church. To properly frame and emphasize the Tabernacle, a small reredos was constructed to house a proper crucifix.
It was necessary to keep the reredos a modest size so not to obscure the mosaic art above, but yet have enough prominence to be visually important.
The color and decoration separate the sanctuary visually from the rest of the church and emphasize its importance and holiness.
